STOP TRYING TO “GAIN CONTROL” OVER FOOD!
People are always in pursuit of “control” over food, thinking that if only they will try hard enough, they’ll be able to control it.
But this kind of thinking is totally delusional, because –
We are NOT really in control of our body’s needs, are we?
We do NOT control when we get hungry, how much sleep we need, or when we get thirsty.
We do NOT have a switch that we can turn off and on.
Our bodies carry out these incredibly complex functions automatically, whether you’re awake or asleep.
Because it happens without any conscious effort on our part.
We do NOT control it.
Just as a car manufacturer knows best about the right fuel and maintenance that a particular car requires, so our bodies know better than we do the best way to eat – when, what, and how much.
So the only thing that we can do is to be aware of our body’s needs. And then act accordingly.
But even then, we aren’t in control of our every reaction to triggering, environmental events – things happen!
We don’t have complete control over anything in our lives and trying to gain control over eating, will only lead to frustration, and compulsive behavior.
I recently suggested to one of my clients that if she really wants to stop feeling crazy around food, she has to stop trying to control it altogether.
“But if stopped controlling it, I will binge on ALL the bad foods, and I’ll gain weight!”, she freaked out.
This couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s actually the other way around.
Making peace with food is NOT about “gaining control” of your food.
It’s about giving up.
It’s about surrendering completely.
Trying to control your food is actually what leads to feeling completely out of control.
Hope this clears things up for you.
Remember –
You are absolute magic, my dear.
And you can be, do, and have whatever you want in life.
It’s your time. You are ready.

Wow, this made me think a lot… I’ve been controlling my food for such a long time… Maybe it’s time to stop. To give this a try.
Thanks, Tiasha. Always appreciate your posts.
